Patent on multibranching watermelon plant

The watermelon plants are said to have more branches and smaller fruits than usual, which can not be considered as an invention, because the corresponding genetic predisposition is to be found in natural biodiversity. The patent covers seeds, plants and melons. The plants were created by crossing and selection - both standard methods that are common in conventional plant breeding.
