Stop the patenting of plants and animals derived from conventional breeding!
In March 2019, the President of the European Patent Office (EPO) raised two questions at the Enlarged Board of Appeal (decision G3/19) of the EPO concerning patents on plants and animals derived from conventional breeding. Until 1st of October 2019 third parties were asked to file statements on these questions.
Together with 25.000 individuals and 50 organizations from all over Europe NO PATENTS ON SEEDS! took the opportunity to present the position of civil society. Our position has to be taken into account in the upcoming proceeding at the Enlarged Board of Appeal.
